Depression
When you are struggling with symptoms of depression, we encourage you to reach out to close friends and family as well as seek therapy with Transformative Counseling & Wellness. You CAN find support during this challenging time.
What is depression?
Depression is a treatable mood disorder that provokes feelings of sadness, worthlessness, and hopelessness. Just like other medical conditions, such as diabetes or autoimmune diseases, you can’t just “snap out of it” and make yourself “happy.” Depression is often triggered by stressful events such as abuse, trauma, divorce or the death of a loved one and can last for long periods of time.
Depression can also provoke recurring thoughts of death or suicide. If you are experiencing suicidal thoughts, please contact the Suicide Prevention Lifeline 1-800-273 TALK (8255).
